We are seeking an experienced Senior Farm Hand to join a family-owned and operated dryland farming business located outside Moree, New South Wales.
This is a full-time, long-term role suited to someone who can work independently, take ownership of their work, and step into a leadership role during busy periods.
The Operation
The property operates a dryland cropping program including wheat, chickpeas, sorghum, barley and, at times, cotton, using modern John Deere machinery.
The Role
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Operation of farm machinery
- Machinery maintenance, repairs and servicing
- Welding and mechanical work as required
- General farm labouring and property maintenance
- Supervising and assisting casual staff during peak periods
- Identifying jobs that need doing and managing tasks without supervision
What We’re Looking For
- Previous broadacre farming experience is essential
- Strong mechanical aptitude and welding ability
- Ability to work independently and direct your own workload
- Good communication skills and a personable approach when working with others
- Safety awareness
- Driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and work-related references
- Fit, capable and reliable
