An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mixed Cropping Farm Manager to lead and coordinate the day-to-day operations of a broadacre mixed cropping enterprise based in Garah, New South Wales.
This is a management role suited to someone who can combine strategic planning with practical farming knowledge. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the cropping program, from planning and budgeting through to harvest, while leading staff and coordinating contractors to ensure the operation runs efficiently.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Financial Management
- Plan, organise and coordinate seasonal cropping programs.
- Prepare and manage operational budgets.
- Maintain accurate farm records and reporting.
- Coordinate resources to maximise productivity and efficiency.
Cropping Operations
- Oversee soil preparation and planting programs.
- Manage seeding operations across a variety of broadacre crops.
- Monitor crop performance and implement timely management decisions.
- Coordinate spraying, fertiliser applications, pest management and weed control.
- Plan and oversee harvesting operations.
Machinery, Maintenance & Logistics
- Operate and oversee modern broadacre farming machinery.
- Coordinate machinery servicing and maintenance schedules.
- Manage crop storage, handling and logistics.
- Oversee the maintenance of farm infrastructure and equipment.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, supervise and support farm employees.
- Coordinate contractors and seasonal staff.
- Promote safe work practices and maintain a positive team culture.
- Ensure daily operations are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of mixed cropping systems. You will be organised, proactive and capable of managing both the operational and business aspects of a modern farming enterprise.
Qualifications & Experience
- A tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Agribusiness or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
- Alternatively, substantial practical experience, ideally 5+ years managing or working within mixed broadacre cropping operations.
- Strong knowledge of modern cropping practices and farm management.
- Proven ability to plan, organise and coordinate farming operations.
- Experience managing staff and contractors.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Current driver’s licence.
Salary Package: From $79,500+ (commensurate with experience)
