An opportunity exists to join a large agribusiness based in Goondiwindi. We are looking for an accountant to join the team.

This position is well-suited for an assistant accountant or accountant with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Alternatively, if you have a background in public practice, specifically in audit, business services, or tax, and are seeking a transition to a commercial accounting role, this opportunity may be ideal for you.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, including month-end entries. Other responsibilities include overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll functions and ensuring compliance with the statutory obligations of the company.

The Responsibilities include:

· Managing the daily financial operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll.
· Responsible for end-of-month accruals, journals, and reconciliations to ensure integrity of the General Ledger.
· BAS and FBT compliance preparation.
· Assist in maintenance of the asset register of the group.
· Assist in preparation of management reports to management.
· Liaise with management and staff regarding account queries.
· Assist with the end-of-year annual audit process.
· Other duties as required.

· A degree in accounting (or similar) or Cert IV in Finance. (essential)
· A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a similar role or 2+ years’ experience working in a public practice.
· A current open Driver’s License – essential
