Our client operates a well-established broadacre cropping enterprise just outside Dalby and is seeking a reliable Farm Hand to join their team.

Crops include wheat, barley, oats, chickpea, sorghum, corn and cotton. The operation is predominantly dryland with some irrigation.

The role Working alongside the Cropping Manager and team, you will be involved in day-to-day farm operations including:

  • Operating plant and machinery including boomspray
  • Assisting with spraying programs
  • Supporting irrigation operations
  • General maintenance and upkeep of machinery and farm assets
  • Maintaining a tidy workshop, clean machinery and well-presented farm
  • Accurate record keeping, both paper-based and electronic
  • Following all safety procedures and PPE requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in broadacre cropping
  • Experience with John Deere GPS systems
  • Current manual driver’s licence essential. HC or MC highly regarded
  • Flood irrigation experience ideal but not essential
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work well in a team

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a solid cropping program.
