We’re working with a progressive mixed farming enterprise expanding their feedlot alongside a cropping operation. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with solid feedlot experience who’s ready to step into a role with real responsibility and be part of a growing operation.

With construction underway, this position will play a key role in supporting the expansion while keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly.

The Role
You will be working closely with the owners and involved across all aspects of the feedlot, including:

  • Daily feeding and stock management
  • Monitoring and reading cattle
  • General livestock husbandry
  • Working alongside contractors during construction
  • Supporting and leading staff on the ground
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing day-to-day bookwork
  • General feedlot maintenance and operations
  • Assisting with feed milling coordination and site operations
  • Supporting environmental compliance and site standards

You’ll be outside getting the job done, but also across the detail behind the scenes.

This role carries real responsibility across the operation, with a focus on livestock performance, staff coordination, site standards and maintaining high levels of animal welfare, nutrition, efficiency and profitability.

About You

  • Previous feedlot and cattle experience is essential
  • Ideally 3 – 5+ years’ experience in intensive livestock or feedlot systems
  • Strong understanding of feedlot processes from start to finish
  • Confident leading a team and working alongside contractors
  • Sound knowledge of feeding systems, animal health and livestock performance
  • Experience with Elynx/BMS highly regarded
  • Practical, reliable and willing to get into the day-to-day work
  • Good attention to detail with record keeping and reporting
  • Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude
  • Comes from an agricultural and machinery background
  • Holds a current driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and solid references
