We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Service Manager to lead a busy workshop team based in St George, Queensland. This role is hands-on, people focused and an important part of ensuring the service department runs smoothly and customers receive reliable support.

This position would suit someone coming from a similar role, or someone with an agricultural background, workshop experience or strong sales and customer-facing experience.

About the Role
You’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the workshop, including:

  • Scheduling and coordinating service jobs
  • Leading and supporting technicians and trade assistants
  • Communicating with customers about bookings, updates and completions
  • Approving time sheets, purchase orders, invoices and leave
  • Monitoring workflow, KPIs, budgets and productivity
  • Taking part in an after-hours breakdown roster

You’ll work closely with internal admin, parts and leadership teams to keep communication clear and operations efficient.

Training & Development
You’ll also play a role in shaping skill development within the team through:

  • Identifying training needs
  • Supporting apprenticeship pathways
  • Assisting with planning and delivering training programs

Warranty & Admin Responsibilities
This role also includes oversight of warranty processes, such as:

  • Creating and managing warranty repair orders
  • Coordinating submissions and documentation
  • Ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines

General admin will include keeping customer records updated, assisting with stocktake, and ensuring work vehicles and shared areas are clean and well maintained.

Health & Safety
You’ll help maintain a safe working environment by:

  • Supporting WHS compliance and documentation
  • Ensuring first aid supplies and safety processes are maintained
  • Encouraging consistent safe work practices

Who We’re Looking For
You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • Experience in agricultural machinery, heavy equipment, or a related industry
  • Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills
  • Good time management and organisation
  • The ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment

Experience with CNHi machinery or diagnostic systems would be helpful, but not essential.

Requirements

  • Current driver licence
  • Forklift licence or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to travel overnight when required
