The right place makes all the difference. This could be it.
A genuine family-run cattle property near Blackall is looking for a capable Station Hand to join the team. This is a small operation, not a large crew, so you’ll be working directly with the owners and expected to be hands-on across the station.
This role would suit someone practical, reliable, and happy to work in a small family setup.
The Role
You’ll be involved in a genuine mix of station work, including:
- Cattle work (season dependent, approx. 4-5 months per year)
- mustering, branding and yard work – Fencing, maintenance and general property work
- Water infrastructure checks and repairs – Machinery operation, including grader, loader and bobcat
- A mix of horse and motorbike work through the year
Accommodation & Inclusions
- Comfortable renovated quarters
- Accommodation, electricity, meat, food allowance and phone allowance provided
Location & Lifestyle
While the job itself is on a family station, you’re not isolated. The district has a strong social scene with racing, campdrafts, footy, cricket and regular local events. It’s a good community to be part of.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Has solid practical station skills and can work without being micromanaged
- Can confidently ride both horses and motorbikes
- Has their own reliable vehicle
- Is easy-going, outgoing and fits into a family environment
- Is looking for a place to stay, contribute and be part of the operation, not just somewhere to pass through
We’re happy to invest in the right person, but we’re looking for someone who wants a proper fit and is prepared to commit.
